Effective cleaning and soaking makes clothing and other materials waterproof, breathable and stain-resistant. They can be washed by hand or in a washing machine.
Tech Wash and TX Direct Wash-In restore the fabric's original water resistance (DWR) and breathability. When membrane garments are exposed to dirt and dust and washed in a regular washing machine, the water resistance is reduced and the fabric begins to absorb water.
To completely remove dirt and dust, machine wash with Tech Wash. For new clothes, one wash with Tech Wash is sufficient. For frequently worn clothes, we recommend an additional soak with TX Direct. A second wash in the washing machine effectively seals seams, zips and Velcro. Nikwax Tech Wash and TX Direct are water-based, fluorocarbon-free and not tested on animals.
